Balance with the Black Moon in Libra

Happy Friday and Black New Moon in Libra friends. Today’s new moon in Libra gives us another chance to start something new, reflect on matters of the heart, and locate where we can use some balance. We can first check in with the physical heart. How healthy are the heart and lungs? The heart is the largest electromagnetic field in the body and it’s so important to cleanse and keep this sacred part of the body clean and clear. Often referred to as the “heart brain”, the heart has cells that some say are much smarter than those located in the brain. So rather than thinking with the head, we can make wiser and compassionate decisions with the heart. Some ways to keep this center clear and strong are with breath of fire, meditation, yoga, energy healing, and crystals. Some crystals that amplify and strengthen the physical heart center are ocean jasper, moss agate, and fushite blended with kyanite. Another powerful crystal, shown here, is green tourmaline growing in quartz. The quartz amplifies the healing properties of the green tourmaline, bringing physical healing and clearing of the heart. Today I pulled The Lovers card, which is all about union, love, and joy! This card resonates so strongly with the heart center and finding that place of balance. Balancing the feminine, masculine, the sun and the moon, the activating and the calming. The Lovers can depict the relationships around us, whether romantic, close friendships, or partnerships. Most importantly it can tell the story about the relationship with yourself. Are you partnered closely with you? Is your life aligned with your inner soul’s wants and desires? What needs to happen to bring some balance to the relationship with the self and others? During this next moon cycle let’s work on balance, strengthening matters of the physical and compassionate heart, and aligning ourselves with our soul’s desires. Have a beautiful day friends. Much love and warm Reiki healing light. #blackmooninlibra #newmoon #darkmoon #mossagate #greentourmaline #greentourmalatedquartz #fushitekyanite #oceanjasper #heart #heartchakra #thelovers #theloverstarot #taroteverydamnday #crystals #healingcrystals #reiki #healing Share this...

Eating Green For 40 Days

Eating Green For 40 Days

“Simple Food is very simple. The simpler you eat, the healthier you become. It is very difficult to eat simple food. Therefore, in therapy, there is always a mono diet. Have just one thing to eat.” – Yogi Bhajan, 7/12/1983   Sat Nam friends, Since November of last year I have been attending a Level 1 Kundalini Yoga Teacher Training program at Golden Bridge in Santa Monica, California. It has been an amazing journey and I have met so many quality people and gained sacred relationships with my peers and teachers. Experiencing Kundalini Yoga as taught by Yogi Bhajan has been such a blessing and has transformed my relationship with myself, others, and my journey as a healer on this planet earth. In one of my teacher training weekends we discussed the Yogic Diet: Ayurveda, vegetarianism, healing foods, and the benefits of cleansing and fasting. We learned about the 40 Day Green Mono Diet. This is a diet that has numerous benefits, such as alkalizing the body, clearing the skin, losing weight, and cleans mucous from the body. What attracted me most with this diet is that anything naturally green is allowed – green apples, kiwi, green lentils, kale, pumpkin seeds, and olive oil. All is good just as long as its naturally GREEN! Other foods are allowed, such as spices, garlic, honey, and soya sauce. For additional protein, the diet allows one serving of cooked grains and one handful of pistachios to stabilize protein levels once per week. The last cleanse I completed was the Master Cleanse where I only consumed water with lemon, cayenne pepper and maple syrup along with morning salt water flushes and peppermint tea. The longest I could stand this cleanse was 10 days since I usually got very weak, had headaches and nausea, and was moody and drowsy. The Master Cleanse was never an easy or pleasant process and I was always looking forward to its end. This green diet seemed so much easier than drinking liquids for 10 days straight! My partner, Amy, and I decided to do this cleanse together and support one another throughout the process.   The diet recommends first trying it for 10 days and seeing how it’s going. If you feel good, then go for 40 days! Amy and I first discussed 10 days, starting the day after Valentine’s Day. Of course we had a rich meal the night before our Kundalini Green Diet journey at one of our favorite vegan restaurants, the Sun Café in Studio City, California. The next morning, February 15, 2016, was officially our first day! We ordered a lot of fresh greens from our weekly produce delivery service, Farm Fresh To You, which consisted of produce such as avocados, kale, kiwis, celery, cabbage, broccoli, and all other sorts of green vegetables and fruits. We also went to our local Hollywood Farmer’s Market on Sundays to pick up other items, such as green onion, broccoflower, green olives, zucchini, and other green fruits and vegetables. Amy and I also discovered an amazing fettuccini pasta on Thrive Market by Explore Asian made from organic edamame, mung beans, and water. It is so delicious paired with fresh pesto made with olive oil, pistachios, sea salt, garlic, and basil! High in protein and packed with nutrients, this pasta is much better than traditional fettuccini! Since Amy and I were already vegans, going without meat and dairy was no problem at all. We’re also sober, so going without alcohol was a breeze. However, we discovered that in order to be successful at this diet it requires a lot of creativity....

Mudra Of The Day – Mushtika Mudra

Mudra Of The Day – Mushtika Mudra

For the past few weeks I’ve been recovering first from a chest cold and then the stomach flu. It’s been a rough few weeks and now my body is starting to feel recovered. After my morning Kundalini meditation called “Start Recognizing Your Identity” I pulled the mudra for the day, which is Mushtika Mudra. This is a solar plexus mudra for determination. It assists with spiritual discipline, transformation, and willpower. Due to my sickness the past few weeks, this mudra has the perfect benefits for me- optimized digestion and assimilation of nutrients, and supports the kidneys and adrenal glands. It also cultivates determination and commitment to releasing self-limiting beliefs, which compliments the 40 day Kundalini meditation that I am practicing. To do this mudra curl the fingers of both hands inward nestled into the palms. Join both hands together so that the heels of the hands and second joints of the fingers are touching. Raise both thumbs up towards the sky and touch and bring them together. Hold the mudra gently in the abdomen. Sit tall and relax the shoulders away from the ears. Have a beautiful day friends, much love and warm Reiki healing light 🙌🏽✨✨✨ Share this...

New Moon Black Candle Magic

New Moon Black Candle Magic

It is a great ritual to burn candles after a New Moon. For this past New Moon in Aries while the sun was in Libra I chose to burn a black candle mixed with Apache Tears and Dragon Blood. Apache Tears cleanses grief, negative energy, and anything that is not serving you, bodily or energy wise.  Dragon Blood also cleanses dark energy and removes any curses or lingering darkness that needs to be dispelled from the air. This candle, stone, and herb mixture cleanses the air of any negative energies that you are ready to release out of your body and life.  After burning the candle it is ritual to dispose of the candle and any contents left over, such as the Apache Tears, so that the dark energy that was absorbed can have a final release from your sphere. Since we had the finish of Mercury Retrograde last Friday it makes sense to let go of old patterns, cleanse the air and cells of negative ions, and make room for positive and welcoming new vibrations. It is the perfect time to think “What am I ready to release from my life?  And after that is released, what new higher vibrations am I willing to accept and make space for?” Black candle magic can help with this wonderful process of release, cleanse, and letting go. Happy new moon magic friends. Much love and warm Reiki healing light. Share this...

Yoga And Meditation For Stress Relief

As it is generally admitted by yoga practitioners and yoga trainers, yoga sessions are very much about self equilibrium, peacefulness and meditation. By practicing meditation we can all reach the sublime state of learning the purpose of our existence and maximizing our will to reach it. Studies have proven that meditation and Yoga highly contribute to both physical and psychological well-being, which is why yoga routines consider the practice of meditation as one of its main principles. Reducing physical pain, stress and blood pressure, meditation promotes a state of mind, by which we can achieve self-healing. Due to all these uncontestable benefits that this practice involves, there is a great variety of information available in different formats, regarding the most efficient meditation techniques, postures, courses, products and forums. Religion and psychology promote meditation as well, as a way of assessing our actions and seeking self improvements. As many theories and ancient believes demonstrate, our present life is determined by our previous actions, which is why it is vital to analyze and meditate on the things we do, in order to find ways of improving ourselves and thus, creating a brighter future. Meditation is  one of the main principles of yoga, as it has been verified that it is a trustworthy tool to use for achieving mental clarity and health. A very important thing to know is the fact that there are various types of meditation exercises, designed for advanced or beginner yoga students. Thus, you have to carefully analyze all details and information provided on each and every one of these techniques and exercises, so that you obtain the maximum results, from your meditation routines. Despite the fact that many people believe that, just like breathing, meditation is something that comes naturally and cannot be taught, there are a few aspects of this process, which can increase your efficiency and your results, in no time. One of the aspects you have to bear in mind is the time of the day when you carry out your yoga meditation; hence, it would be perfect if you could do it either in the morning or late in the evening, as during those particular moments of the day, the atmosphere is charged with a high level of spiritual energy. Here is some advice regarding meditation: * Before starting the meditation session free your mind of all worries. * Try to locate a quiet place, where you are not likely to be disturbed. * It is recommended to choose the same moment of the day, as well as the same place, for your meditation routine. * Focus on meditation; do not let your mind get lost in other thoughts. * Try to follow a pattern when breathing. * Your head, back and neck have to be placed in a perfect straight line. Remember that it is crucial both to perform the meditation session and to observe the results, in order to get close to experiencing the supreme synchronization between the body and the spirit. Secrets To Keeping A Positive Attitude

Secrets To Keeping A Positive Attitude

Are you constantly bombarded by thoughts of negativity? Plagued by feelings of insecurity? Do you see everything in a negative manner? The reason for this lies deep within your heart. You are what you mentally and spiritually eat. If a person drinks alcohol on a daily basis, odds are their body will be affected in some way. They may have liver issues, develop cancer or incur some other type of health problem directly related to the amount of alcohol they have consumed. In the same way, a person who constantly feeds themselves negative thoughts will simply turn into a negative person. This is the time to go on a diet. A diet of positive attitude food. You have to literally stop feeding your mind negative things. Ask yourself is this thought negative or positive or negative? What do negative thoughts look like? Well, they start with can’t rather than can, no as opposed to yes, will and not won’t. The Bible which is the greatest self help book ever written, speaks about taking every thought captive. The problem in our society has become that our thoughts have taken us captive. We have begun to let our thoughts control us. A great way to know what we are negative about is to ask those people who are closest to us. You can ask your spouse or another person in your life who really knows you how they would rate your attitude on a scale of 1 to 10. 10 being super positive and 1 super negative. Ask this person to be totally honest with you. You will benefit from their honesty even if it causes you pain. Ask this person what it is that you specifically say that they perceive as negative. Write down what they say and look at the actual words. Now is the time to be honest with yourself. Those words are a reflection of what is inside you. They are who you are. The great thing is that you can change. It is as simple as making a choice to do so. You must decide to replace the thoughts of negativity with thoughts of positivity. Decide what words you will change the negative words on your paper to. Once you have done this, make an effort to insert these new positive thoughts in your mind. You will begin to notice a positive change taking place in your life. Your family, friends and co-workers will all notice it as well. They may not know what is different about you. But they will know that you are not the same person that you were. The items which are causing negativity in your life could very well be the news, movies, constantly replaying tragedy in your mind and the list could go on. These things should be eliminated if you want your new mental health regimen to be a success. The news is very negative and does not help someone who is trying to rid their mind of such thoughts. When you are feeding yourself thoughts of death from a war or gunshot or car accident visually the outcome will be negative. I do believe there is a time to grieve over the death of a loved one. However, if a person constantly replays this negative event in their minds it can lead to depression. The person who has passed away is not coming back and we must close that chapter in our lives and move on to the next chapter. This is a difficult task which can only be done by making a decision to proceed with our...
